MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND MARKS THE BEGINNING OF THE SUMMER SEASON AT CENTRAL MISSOURI'S LAKE OF THE OZARKS

Although the first day of summer is officially June 20, Memorial Day Weekend has traditionally marked the start of the summer season at Central Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks.  As the days grow longer and the weather continues to warm, the action at the "Best Recreational Lake" in the Nation really begins to heat up. Read on for more information on the area's Memorial Day Weekend celebrations.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND, MAY 27-29, 2016

Many resorts host professional fireworks displays to start their busy season with a bang. Resort guests and visitors to the area are welcome to enjoy the festivities by either land or by water.

Bear Bottom Resort, located in Sunrise Beach, will feature live music by Money for Nothing followed by fireworks at 9:45 pm. On Saturday evening, Bear Bottom Resort, in Sunrise Beach, will entertain visitors with live music from Money for Nothing beginning at 7 pm followed by a professional pyrotechnics display at 9:45 pm. The fun continues at Bear Bottom on Sunday with a live, double-bill concert featuring another performance by Money for Nothing from 7:00 - 9:30 pm, a second fireworks display at 9:45 pm and country music superstar Matt Stillwell will close out the evening with a much-anticipated performance beginning at 10 pm. Viewing opportunities on the resort property are for guests only. For more information, call 573-348-3131, or visit www.Tan-Tar-A.com

The Lodge of Four Seasons will host a grand opening of the newly redesigned cloverleaf swimming pool and poolside Parrot Bar throughout the holiday weekend and will also host a barbeque and carnival followed by fireworks on Sunday. Memorial Weekend 2013 at Lake of the Ozarks

The traditional start to summer in the US is always Memorial Day Weekend, and the best place to celebrate the season in the Midwest has always been Central Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks. Whether your idea of summer celebration is quiet relaxation or attending the biggest parties, Lake of the Ozarks has all of that and everything in between.

If camping is your style, you can find amenity-filled RV Parks with full hook-ups and primitive tent sites, sometimes all within the same campground. If you require more modern accommodations, Lake of the Ozarks offers a range of lodging from roadside motels to completely furnished luxury homes right on the water's edge. Start your search for the right place for you and your family or group at www.funlake.com/accommodations.

No matter where you decide to stay, Lake of the Ozarks will provide non-stop activities and entertainment. Boating and water recreation, fishing, hiking, world class golf, shopping, dining, music shows, night clubs with live bands and more. Plan your schedule or just get a quick idea of what you may want to do during your stay: www.funlake.com/visitors.html

All of this activity in one region sets Lake of the Ozarks apart from your average vacation destination, but what may make Memorial Day Weekend unique is that we don't wait for the 4th of July to hold large, professional fireworks displays. Three major fireworks displays over the water will be held between May 25th and 26th. Watch the sky light up at or near any one of these following locations: Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, The Lodge of Four Seasons in Lake Ozark and Bear Bottom Resort in Sunrise Beach. You can even reserve space on one of two luxury cruise yachts to view displays from the water at Tan-Tar-A and The Lodge of Four Seasons. Visit our online calendar for contact numbers and web links: www.funlakeevents.com.

Where ever or how ever you choose to spend Memorial Weekend, have a great time, make lasting memories and take time to remember those that gave everything in the line of serving our country.
